Why I’m Starting a Cut Flower Farm
There comes a point where you can feel something shifting, even if you don’t fully understand it yet. For me, it felt quiet at first. Just a pull toward something slower, softer, and more meaningful.
There comes a point where you can feel something shifting, even if you don’t fully understand it yet. For me, it felt quiet at first. Just a pull toward something slower, softer, and more meaningful.
For a long time, my work centered around helping others care for their dogs. It was work I believed in, and in many ways, it shaped who I am. But over time, I started to feel like I was being pulled in a different direction. One that felt more connected to nature, to creativity, and to the kind of life I want to build for myself and my family.
This garden is the beginning of that shift.
Right now, it doesn’t look like much. There are no overflowing buckets of flowers or neatly arranged bouquets. Just seeds, soil, plans, and a whole lot of learning as I go. It’s the quiet stage. The part most people don’t see.
But I’ve come to understand that this stage matters just as much as what comes later.
I’m building this not just for myself, but alongside my daughter. I want her to grow up seeing what it looks like to create something from nothing. To care for something consistently. To be patient. To believe that even small beginnings can turn into something beautiful.
There’s something really grounding about working with flowers. You can’t rush them. You can’t force them. You just have to show up, do the work, and trust that something is happening beneath the surface.
That’s where I am right now. Showing up, learning, and trusting.
My hope is that one day, these flowers will make their way into people’s homes. That they’ll sit on kitchen tables, be gifted to someone special, or bring a little bit of calm into someone’s day. Not just because they’re beautiful, but because they were grown with care, intention, and a real story behind them.
If you’ve found your way here at the very beginning, I’m really glad you’re here. This is just the start, and I’d love for you to follow along as everything begins to grow.
